Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated October 24, 2026
This policy covers boring-fitness.com and the services sold on it. It's run by The Boring Fitness Coach LLC ("we," "us"), Ryan Tullis, 6269 Lonetree Blvd, Rocklin, CA 95765. Questions go to rt@boring-fitness.com.
If you become a coaching client, the Client Agreement you accept at checkout covers the information collected during coaching (goals, health history, progress photos, food logs, call recordings). This page covers the website.
What we collect, and why
Things you give us.
- Free downloads and the newsletter: your first name and email address, which resource you asked for, the page you were on, and the campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example, which Instagram post sent you here). We email you the download. Finishing the request on our site, or opening the download link in that email, confirms the request was yours; only then do we send four short emails over two weeks about how we coach, then occasional new articles or offers, a few a month at most. We record that confirmation and which series emails were sent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number and message. We use them to reply.
- Purchases of digital products (the cookbook): handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email and what you bought so we can deliver the file and keep tax records. We never see your full card number.
- Coaching sign-ups and consultation bookings: handled by Trainerize (ABC Trainerize). Trainerize collects what it needs to create your account, process payment through Stripe, and book your call. See the Client Agreement.
Things collected automatically.
- Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, whether forms get submitted, and which calculators get used (not the numbers you type into them). Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. Google processes this data for us under its terms, and may use some of it to maintain and improve its own services. We don't use Google's advertising features and we don't send analytics data to Google Ads.
- Meta Pixel loads only if you click "Allow the pixel" on the cookie notice. It tells Meta which pages you visited here and when you submit a form, click to book a call or click through to checkout (never what you typed), and Meta may combine that with what it already knows about you from Facebook and Instagram and from other websites and apps that use its tools. We use it to show ads on Instagram and Facebook to people who visited this site and to measure whether those ads work. California law calls this "sharing" personal information for advertising. Choosing "No thanks," clicking the footer link, or having your browser send the Global Privacy Control signal keeps it off.
- Server logs at our hosting provider (Cloudflare) record standard request data such as IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and reliability.
- Videos and the podcast player. The client videos on the results page are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; then the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com. The podcast page has a Spotify player that loads from Spotify only when you press the button to load it. Google and Spotify may set their own cookies and collect information about how you use those players, under their own privacy policies.
We don't collect health information on this website. The pillar check asks about habits, not medical conditions. The calculators and the pillar check run entirely in your browser; your numbers and answers stay on the page, and we only count that a tool was used.
Cookies and similar tech
| Cookie or storage | Purpose | Set by |
|---|---|---|
bf_consent (browser storage) | Remembers your cookie choice | Us |
bf_lead (browser storage) | Remembers that you've already requested a download. A yes/no flag only, no personal details | Us |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics |
_fbp, _fbc | Ad measurement, only after you click "Allow the pixel" | Meta |
You can change your choice any time by clearing your browser's site data for boring-fitness.com, or by clicking Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information in the footer, which turns the Meta pixel off.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as "No thanks," never load the Meta pixel, and don't show you the cookie notice at all. We don't respond to the older "Do Not Track" browser setting, because there's no agreed standard for what it should do. Other companies named on this page (Google, Meta, YouTube, Spotify) may collect information about your activity over time and across other sites when you use their tools here. Their policies explain their own choices.
Who we share information with
Only the companies we use to run the business, and only for that purpose:
- Google Workspace (email, Sheets, Drive) stores your form submissions and lead list.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Trainerize runs the coaching app, checkout and consultation booking.
- Cloudflare hosts this site.
- Google Analytics and, with your consent, Meta as described above.
- Zapier moves data between those tools (for example, sending a call reminder).
We don't sell your personal information. The only "sharing" for advertising is the Meta pixel described above, and only if you've allowed it. We don't give your information to anyone else for their own marketing. We'll disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom, or email us.
- Opt out of ad tracking: click "No thanks" on the cookie notice, or the "Do Not Sell or Share" link in the footer. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal from browsers that send it.
- See, correct or delete your information: email rt@boring-fitness.com. We'll do it within 30 days, except for records we're required to keep (tax records, signed agreements).
- California residents: we offer the choices above to everyone, whether or not a law requires it. If you live in California you can also ask us what personal information we hold about you and where it came from, and we won't treat you differently for asking. Our business is below the size at which the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, so we follow its ideas voluntarily. The footer link "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" turns off the Meta pixel in your browser.
Children
This site, our emails and our downloads are for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn we have, we'll delete it. Coaching clients under 18 are accepted only when a parent or guardian signs the Client Agreement and is our contact for billing.
If you ask for a download, you'll receive it by email. The series of short emails about how we coach starts only after the request is confirmed, by finishing it on our site or by opening the download link in that first email. If it's never confirmed, you get nothing more and we delete the address after 30 days. The series is four messages over two weeks, then occasional articles and offers, never more than a few a month. You can stop at any time.
How long we keep it
Confirmed lead and contact records stay in our Google Sheet until you ask us to delete them. Addresses that never confirmed are deleted after 30 days. If you unsubscribe we keep the address only as a do-not-email record. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires. Google Analytics keeps its data for the retention period set in our account (14 months or less). Cloudflare's server logs are kept for a short period set by Cloudflare.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top, note it on this page, and for significant changes email everyone on the list. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
